1. Change number online at home
- If you do not want to stand in the queue at the bank and you have internet banking or the bank’s mobile app, then you can do this work in 5 minutes.
- First of all, go to the official website of your bank or their mobile app and login with your ID-password.
- On the home page you will see the option of ‘Profile’, ‘Settings’ or ‘Personal Details’, click on it.
- There you will find a button to change or update your mobile number (Update Contact Details).
- For security, the bank will send an OTP to your old number.
- If the old number has been switched off, you can prove your identity by entering your ATM card (Debit Card) details, answers to secret questions or profile password.
- Now enter your new mobile number and double check that any digit is not wrong.
- At last press the submit button. The message of number updating will appear on your screen.
2. Change number from ATM
- If you do not use internet banking, then this work can be done in minutes by going to whichever ATM of your bank is near your home.
- Go to your bank’s ATM and insert your debit card into the machine.
- Type your ATM PIN.
- Select the option ‘Mobile Number Registration’ or ‘Register Mobile Number’ from the options visible on the screen.
- Enter your new 10 digit mobile number and submit.
- An OTP will come immediately on your new number, enter it on the ATM screen and ‘Confirm’.
- Usually it takes 24 to 48 hours to change the number through ATM.
3. By visiting the bank branch
- Visit your nearest or home bank branch.
- Ask for ‘Mobile Number Update Form’ from the employee present at the counter.
- Fill in your name, bank account number and new mobile number clearly in the form.
- Attach a photocopy of any valid government ID proof of your identity (like Aadhaar card or PAN card) with this form and sign and submit it.
- Bank employees will check your papers and update your new number in the system.
