Haryana reviews drinking water, sewerage projects, stresses timely completion

The Haryana government reviewed the progress of schemes and infrastructure projects being implemented by the Public Health Engineering Department during a high-level meeting in Chandigarh.
The review covered projects linked to budget announcements, Chief Minister’s announcements and commitments made in the state’s election manifesto.

The meeting focused on strengthening the availability of safe drinking water, improving sewerage networks and enhancing wastewater management systems across the state. Officials were directed to complete all ongoing projects within the stipulated timelines while maintaining quality standards.

The government also reviewed measures to improve water resource management. Directions were issued to maximise the use of treated wastewater, promote water conservation and ensure the supply of canal water to areas where groundwater levels are low.

The review is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to strengthen public infrastructure and improve access to reliable water supply and sanitation services across Haryana.
