Mumbai (Maharashtra) [भारत]July 12 (ANI): The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday announced two changes to the team due to injuries. Fast bowler Prince Yadav has been included in the ODI squad for the England tour in place of Harshit Rana, who suffered a Grade 1 injury to his right hamstring during the third T20I against England. At the same time, spinner Ravi Bishnoi has been included in the T20I squad for the Zimbabwe series in place of Varun Chakravarthy, who suffered a Grade 2 injury to his left hamstring in the same match and has been ruled out of the Zimbabwe series. Both players will report to the BCCI Center of Excellence for rehabilitation and further medical management.
BCCI issued statement
“The men’s selection committee has named Prince Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi as replacements for Harshit Rana and Varun Chakraborty in India’s ODI and T20I squads respectively,” the BCCI wrote in a statement.
The statement further read, “Rana complained of sudden soreness in his right hamstring during the third T20I against England at Trent Bridge. Subsequent scans revealed a Grade 1 hamstring injury. He has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against England and will report to the BCCI Center of Excellence (CoE) for further assessment and management. Chakravarthy also suffered a strain in his left hamstring during the third T20I against England. “A subsequent MRI scan revealed a Grade 2 hamstring injury. Based on specialist medical advice, he has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe for further management.”
