The India specification X350T has now been spotted without its camouflage, showing the bike’s new designation on its fuel tank. It looks like this bike is a downsized variant of the X440T, designed to comply with the new India taxation norms applicable for the capacity of 350cc motorcycles. This development is in sync with the strategy that Bajaj Auto used recently.
Harley-Davidson X350T: Expected Launch Timeline
The motorcycle is due to launch in India within a few months, though neither Harley-Davidson nor Hero MotoCorp has made any announcements regarding the date of its launch. A smaller engine could possibly help make the bike more competitively priced in the new GST regime.
Why Is Harley-Davidson Reducing Engine Displacement?
This is due to the changes made to the GST 2.0 which include different taxation depending on engine displacement in case of motorcycles. Those two-wheelers whose engine displacement ranges from zero to 350cc come under 18 per cent GST while those with bigger engines come under 40 per cent. Therefore, having a motorcycle below 350cc like the X440T would make it more cost-effective. The Harley-Davidson X440T motorcycle features a single-cylinder 440cc engine with 27 bhp power and 38 Nm torque capacity. It runs with a six-speed transmission system. The future X350T motorcycle will have the same platform but an engine of 350cc capacity.
Harley-Davidson X350T: What the Spy Shots Reveal
The new bike also bears the X350T logo next to the Harley Davidson branding found on its fuel tank. The photos also show that the bike will have a new paint job in orange color, along with graphics. When it comes to its styling, it seems that the X350T retains its predecessor’s roadster look. Notable styling cues include the circular LED headlight, fuel tank, and wide handlebars.
Harley-Davidson X350T: Expected Specifications
The details of the specification of the Harley-Davidson X350T have not been unveiled by the company yet. But some reports have estimated that the output of power from the small engine would be approximately 25 bhp and torque of 35 Nm. These figures have not been confirmed yet and can change anytime. Harley-Davidson X350T will come equipped with USD front forks, dual channel ABS, and TFT screen like its bigger sibling Harley-Davidson X440T.
