Considering the role of the then Municipal Commissioner Varun Chaudhary in the land purchase case as serious, a recommendation has been made against him for dismissal from service. The government has decided to send a proposal to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) for action against them as per rules. This action is being taken on the basis of the facts revealed in the investigation.
Former DM Haridwar: Recommendation of major punishment on the then District Magistrate
In the case, the then District Magistrate Haridwar Karmendra Singh has been held guilty of serious negligence in discharging his duties and administrative responsibilities. The government has recommended imposing major punishment against them. In this regard also, a proposal is being sent to DoPT for action as per rules.
SDM Ajayveer Singh: Instructions to stop increment and adverse entry
Action has also been taken against the then working SDM Ajayveer Singh in the land purchase case. The government has given instructions to make an adverse entry in his service record and stop his three increments. The government believes that ensuring accountability of officials is an essential step towards good governance.
Haridwar Land Purchase Case: Action increased after preliminary investigation

In the detailed investigation of Vigilance, prima facie it was found that financial loss was caused to the Municipal Corporation through alleged criminal conspiracy and fraud in the land purchase and sale process. On the basis of the investigation report, the State Vigilance Committee recommended action, which was approved by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Corruption Case Uttarakhand: Cases will be filed against many officers and employees
Charges will be filed against several officials, employees and land sellers in this case on the recommendation of the State Vigilance Committee headed by the Chief Secretary. The officers made accused include the then Municipal Commissioner Varun Chaudhary, the then Assistant Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Kumar Dayal, the then Tax Superintendent Laxmikant Bhatt, the then Assistant Engineer and Executive Engineer in Charge Anand Singh Mishra, the then property clerk Vedpal and the then cartographer Dinesh Kandpal.
Land Sellers Also Under Scanner: Action will be taken against land sellers also
Land sellers and other related persons are also included in the scope of investigation. The government has also decided to file a case against Smt. Suman Devi, Jitendra Kumar, Abhishek Yadav and Sujit Kumar Singh. Action will be taken against all of them under the provisions of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and Prevention of Corruption Act.
