Hansika Krishna addresses leaked video controversy

Hansika Krishna has released an official statement on her social media page on the viral video controversy. Hansika admitted that she had briefly uploaded the video to her subscriber-only account but removed it within minutes after realising it was a mistake. According to her statement, a few subscribers screen-recorded the clip before it was deleted and later shared it publicly. Describing the upload as a “careless and silly decision,” Hansika said she regretted the incident and decided to speak publicly after spending days processing its emotional impact.

Following the leak, several social media users accused Hansika of intentionally posting the clip to attract attention or boost subscription revenue. The actress and content creator rejected those allegations, mentioning that neither money nor publicity motivated her actions.

Hansika said she was already financially secure and had a large following on social media, so she had no reason to seek money or publicity through the incident. She also mentioned the timing of the controversy, noting that her sister Ahaana Krishna’s music video was released just days later. Hansika said she would never knowingly do anything that could negatively affect her sister’s work or reputation.

Hansika’s statement focused on the online abuse she faced after the video surfaced. While acknowledging that public figures often face criticism, she said the backlash frequently crossed the line into targeted harassment. According to Hansika, some individuals repeatedly created content about the controversy to gain engagement, often using hurtful language to members of her family. Hansika also explained that she initially considered shutting down the subscription service altogether but ultimately chose to raise the price from Rs 299 to Rs 399 temporarily in an effort to discourage new subscribers.

The actress and content creator, who has more than 1.6 million followers on Instagram, is currently preparing for her acting debut opposite Naslen in the upcoming Malayalam film Bachelor Party 2 D’eux. She also recently appeared in the music video Pookkal, directed by her sister Ahaana Krishna.
