Health screening of 1.89 crore children under SH-RBSK

This scheme has been implemented under School Health – Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (SH-RBSK). Under this, every year health check-up of about 1.89 crore children is done by 992 mobile health teams. Earlier, records of these tests were available only on digital portals, but there was no easy documentation for parents. The new Health Passport will bridge this gap and make all health records available in a simple form.

Easy health passport process through mobile health team

Parents will not need any additional documents to make a health passport. Mobile health teams will screen children in schools, Anganwadis, madrassas, gurukuls and special schools. Health passport will be issued as soon as the investigation is completed. The PHC Medical Officer will renew the passports of children up to 5 years of age and those who are not going to school every year, while for school children this responsibility will be taken up by the school principal.

Digital health records and 4D data from birth to 18 years

This health passport will be a digital record of the complete medical history of the child. This will include all health checkups from birth to 18 years, 4D categories i.e. congenital disorders, diseases, nutritional deficiencies and developmental problems. Besides, development, nutrition, referral services, health tips and emergency numbers will also be recorded in it. It will be completely connected to SH-RBSK digital portal.

Digital integration and better health management

Even if the health passport is lost, it can be reissued. The main objective of this scheme is to make parents active participants in the health management of children, thereby creating better coordination between the family, child and health services.
