Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi, the state’s largest hospital in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, a meeting of the 59th governor council. In this, 16 of the total 37 agendas were approved by the governing council. The meeting was chaired by Jharkhand Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari, in which Health Department Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh, RIMS Director Dr. Rajkumar, Kanke MLA Suresh Baitha and other officials were present. In the meeting, many important decisions were taken to make the functioning of RIMS Hospital more smooth, transparent and public interest.
Addressing the meeting, Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari said that the state government is committed to make RIMS Hospital an excellent medical institute. He said that patients get better health facilities, corrective steps are being taken at every level. The minister directed to work on the possibility of starting Evening paid OPD, expressing an intention to impose effective ban on private practice.
He urged the RIMS administration to treat every patient and their families with humanity and sensitivity. At the same time, he said that there will be no shortage of resources, if there is a need, only intention and fairness.
In order to prevent the people of Jharkhand state for better medical facilities, the state’s largest hospital Rajendra Ayurvedic Institute RIMS will now get high -range health facilities like private hospitals at a nominal expense.
Major decisions taken in 59 governing council meeting of RIMS Hospital:
- Retirement Gratuity Payment: After the retirement, the personnel/officials appointed to the post approved by the state government were approved to pay the gratuity amount from the top.
- Promotion of doctors: It was decided to promote doctors after review by the Promotion Committee constituted.
- Payment of investigative agencies: Decision to pay the arrears by reviewing the case-to-case of pending bills of investigating agencies working on PPP mode.
- Modular OT Payment: Pending payment was approved by the Health Departmental Investigation Committee after the work was found satisfactory.
- Tender Process: Strict compliance of tender execution rules determined by the state government will be ensured.
- During therapy, the funeral kit will be given to their families for the funeral of Rs 5,000/- to their families on death in RIMS. Along with this, it was decided to arrange a free body vehicle to take the dead body from RIMS to home.
- Increase in the number of ventilator beds in RIMS Hospital: The capacity of beds containing ventilator in Trauma Center, Emergency and ICU will be increased.
- Appointment to new posts: Appointment of contractual appointment of Hospital Manager, Protocol Officer and Dietician was approved.
- OPS Benefits: Decision to give benefits of Old Pension Scheme (OPS) to regular and competent level approved workers/officials.
- Security system strengthening: For better security, 50% home guard and 50% private security personnel will be appointed from external sources.
- Adjustment of contract workers: A report will be sent to the state government within 30 days for adjustment of third/fourth class contract workers working for more than 10 years.
- Promotion Rules Construction: Rules will be made for promotion of GDMO/MO medical cadre.
- PET scan facility: Decision to install PET scan machines on PPP mode for advanced examination of cancer patients.
- Honorarium hike of trainee nurses: The honorarium of trainee nurses working at ₹ 10,000 per month was approved to increase ₹ 25,000 per month during the Kovid transition period.
- Restoration of SR vacant posts: It was decided to fill the vacant posts of Senior Residents through advertisement.
- Prospects of Evening paid OPD: To stop private practice, the minister was instructed to investigate the possibilities of starting Evening paid OPD.
This meeting will prove to be an important step towards ensuring the administrative efficiency of RIMS, quality of medical service and facilities of the general public.
