Earlier there was a lot of irregularities in ration in the country. People used to take ration by making fake ration cards. To stop this, the government digitalized PDS (Public Distribution System). Now ration is reaching 80.6 crore people properly.
Aadhaar and eKYC are being used to remove fake ration cards. Now only genuine beneficiaries get ration. So far 5.8 crore fake ration cards have been removed. Due to this, only the needy people are getting ration and the problem has ended.
Till now 20.4 crore ration cards have been digitalised. 99.8% of these ration cards are linked to Aadhaar. Besides, biometric authentication of 98.7% people has also been done. With this it has been decided that ration should reach only the right people.
Transparency from ePoS machine
The government has installed 5.33 lakh ePoS machines across the country. Through these machines, identification is done through Aadhaar and ration is given. Due to this, taking ration from the wrong card has stopped. Transparency has increased everywhere and irregularities have ended. With the help of eKYC, verification of 64% people has been completed. The work of the rest will also be completed soon. Now no one faces any problem in getting ration. This process has become simple and safe.
New technology is being used to track the transportation and supply of ration. Real-time tracking ensures that the ration reaches the right place and at the right time. With this the possibility of error has been eliminated.
‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ scheme
With this scheme, people can now take their ration in any state. Even if you are outside your state, your ration card will work everywhere. This has helped the migrant laborers a lot.
Due to all these reforms, PDS has now become completely transparent. Ration is reaching only the real needy and there is no problem in distribution.
