The scheme is mainly for meritorious girl students of Uttar Pradesh. The major eligibility conditions are as follows:
- The student should be a native of Uttar Pradesh.
- Be enrolled in a government college or university.
- Should have performed excellently at Graduation or Post-Graduation level.
- Selection based on merit list.
According to some reports, the government bears the entire cost of the scooty or transfers a certain amount directly to the student’s bank account as a subsidy.
Now there are also indications that meritorious girl students from private institutions are also being considered for inclusion in the future.
