In Gorakhpur, due to a dispute over mother’s Brahmbhoj, elder brother shot and killed younger brother. 40 year old accused Durgvijay Sharma is absconding after the incident. Police teams are conducting raids to arrest the accused.
Gorakhpur. A surprising case came to light in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. Here, in a fight over mother’s Brahmbhoj, an elder brother shot and killed his younger brother. This incident took place in Pipraich area, where Shubham Sharma was shot by his elder brother Durgvijay Sharma. There was a dispute going on between the two brothers regarding the Brahmabhoj program of their mother. 40 year old accused Durgvijay is currently absconding.
Shubham was shot in the chest. He was immediately taken to Nehru Hospital, BRD Medical College, where doctors declared him brought dead. According to the police, there was tension in the family since the death of the brothers’ mother. Shubham and another brother wanted the Brahmbhoj program to be organized together. At the same time, Durgvijay and another brother wanted to do separate programs.
The argument escalated at his house in Barki Revatiya village on Tuesday afternoon. During the quarrel, Durgvijay allegedly took out a country-made pistol and fired at Shubham. The bullet hit him directly in his chest, seriously injuring him. As soon as information about the incident was received, Pipraich police reached the spot. Police surrounded the area and started collecting evidence for investigation.
SP North Gyanendra Kumar said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the murder took place due to a family dispute over organizing Brahmbhoj. Teams have been formed to arrest the accused. Police have started raids to search for Durgvijay Sharma and further investigation of the case is underway.
