Good news for those celebrating Chhath in Delhi, holiday will remain on 7th November; CM Atishi announced

Delhi government has taken a big decision regarding Chhath festival. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Marlena has declared November 7 as a public holiday on account of Chhath festival. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Marlena shared a post on the social media platform ‘X’ and said that I am happy to inform that November 7 will be a holiday for the festival of Chhath. On the holiday of Chhath festival, all Purvanchali brothers and sisters will be able to celebrate the festival with pomp and show.

CM Atishi wrote in the post shared on social media that Chhath Puja is an important festival of the people living in Delhi. Delhi government has decided to declare November 7 as a public holiday on account of Chhath festival. CM Atishi has welcomed this decision of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena had written a letter to CM Atishi. In which it was said that on Chhath festival, the restricted holiday should be ended and a day’s leave should be given and its file should be made available to us soon.

The Lieutenant Governor had written that the festival of faith is celebrated for four days. In such a situation, people should get a public holiday on 7th November. When there was a restricted holiday, the departments used to decide whether to give leave to the employees or not and if they have to give it, then to give it for the whole day or for half a day, but now 7th November has been declared a public holiday on the occasion of Chhath festival.

This four-day festival will begin on November 5 and conclude on November 8. Preparations have been made at different ghats in Delhi for Chhath Puja. Care has also been taken to ensure that people coming to Chhath Ghats do not face any kind of chaos.
