Many people visit Vaishno Devi Mata by road, but it takes a lot of time. Now the government has tried to connect Delhi with Katra city of Jammu and Kashmir. With this, devotees from Punjab and Delhi will be able to reach Maa’s court within a few hours.
Lakhs of devotees come to the court
Let us tell you that Mata Vaishno Devi Temple is visited by lakhs of devotees every year and it serves as a base camp for pilgrims during the Katra Yatra. The distance between Delhi and Katra is approximately 727 km and while it normally takes 13-15 hours to cover this distance, the new expressway will reduce the travel time by a significant margin. The journey of people wishing to go to Delhi and Katra through this expressway will become much easier. In January 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the expressway and the expressway is expected to be fully completed by the end of 2025.

Once the construction of Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway is completed, it will reduce the distance between Delhi and Katra from approximately 727 km to 669 km and will provide great relief in travel. Also, the distance between Delhi and Amritsar will reduce from about 485 km to about 405 km and the travel time will be halved from eight hours to four hours.
