The State Cabinet has approved the proposal to increase the uniform allowance, uniform washing allowance, leave travel facility and assistance related to children’s education for the personnel working in government departments.
These allowances have been increased to a maximum of 50 percent. Whatever recommendations were given by the Chief Secretary Committee for increase in these allowances have been implemented.
The proposal related to increase in allowances was approved in the state cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister on Monday. Along with increase in uniform, uniform renewal, uniform washing allowance, allowances related to Home Police Department, allowances related to employees and officers of subordinate courts, leave travel facility, increase in education related assistance, the employees of Basic Education, Secondary Education, Higher Education Department, Technical Education Department, Vocational Education and Skill Development Department, Governor’s Secretariat, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Secretariat and Legislative Council Secretariat will get the benefit.
According to the recommendations of the Chief Secretary Committee, along with the increase in the allowances being received by the Home (Police) Department personnel, the uniform, uniform renewal and uniform washing allowances allowed to the employees of the subordinate courts of Justice Department, Prison Administration and Reforms Department, Forest Department, Excise Department, Medical Health and Family Welfare Department, Medical Education Department and AYUSH Department have been increased.
No decision has been taken to make any amendments in other cases. If these recommendations are implemented, there will be an additional annual expenditure of approximately Rs 20 crore on the state government.
For example, those personnel who were getting Rs 3000 as uniform allowance will now get Rs 4500, those who were getting Rs 6400 will now get Rs 9600 and those who were getting Rs 7500 will now get Rs 11,250.
