Raipur: Under the Good Governance Tihar 2026 campaign of Chhattisgarh Government, now the ray of development is not limited to offices only, but is reaching remote forest areas. In this series, Sukma district administration presented a new example of sensitivity. On Wednesday, Collector Amit Kumar and Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan, without caring about any protocol, themselves drove a motorcycle and covered 30 kilometers of rough and inaccessible roads and reached inaccessible villages Gonderas and Nilavaya. Let us tell you that through Good Governance Tihar, the district administration is delivering 31 individual schemes and 14 community facilities directly to the doorsteps of the villagers.

Immediate solution to problems in village Gonderas

In Gonderas village, the Collector and SP interacted directly with the villagers by sitting on a cot spread under a tamarind tree instead of on a luxurious stage. On the complaint of villagers about damage to solar plates, the Collector immediately instructed the CREDA department to ensure repairs in all the houses. An amount of Rs 70 lakh was sanctioned for basic works like Anganwadi and Panchayat building in the village, the responsibility of which has been entrusted to the Gram Panchayat. In the camp, many documents including 17 Kisan Credit Cards, 12 Caste Certificates and resolution of 11 PM-Kisan cases, 2 Kisan Kitab, 2 Patwari reports were distributed on the spot.

Gift of health protection and culvert

After reaching village Nilavaya, the officials sat on the ground and set up a chaupal. To eliminate the extra distance of 15 km that the villagers have to travel during the rainy season, the Collector on the spot approved the construction of a culvert on the drain. Strict instructions were given to the Secretary to send 4 cataract patients to the district hospital and for the safe delivery of pregnant women. During the camp, the baby shower ceremony of 2 pregnant women was completed and birth certificates of 22 children were immediately prepared and handed over.

The goal is good governance on the ground, not on paper.

Collector Amit Kumar told the villagers that the aim of the government is to connect every household with saturation of electricity, water and health facilities through the Niyad Nella Naar (Your Good Village) scheme. He clarified that making the local Panchayat a construction agency is a big step to bring speed and transparency in the work. This is the first time that a collector has reached our village on a motorcycle. We are now confident that our problems will not remain unheard. Village sarpanch Joga Vanjami described the arrival of the officials as historic and said that this is the first time that a collector has reached his village.
