How to make Goan curry

You can easily make Goan curry at home. If you do not eat non-veg, then instead of fish, you can make flavorful vegetables by using vegetables like carrots, potatoes, beans, cauliflower.

Ingredients of Goan Veg Curry

Mix vegetables (carrots, potatoes, beans, cauliflower) – 2 cups

Onion- 1 (chopped)

Tomato- 1 (chopped)

Coconut (grated) – 1 cup

Dry red chilli – 3-4

Garlic- 4-5 cloves

Ginger- 1 inch

Turmeric powder- ½ tsp

Coriander powder- 1 tsp

Cumin – ½ tsp

Tamarind water- 1-2 tsp

salt as per taste

Oil – 2 tbsp

Water- as per need

How to make Goan curry

To make Goan curry, first make a paste by mixing coconut, dry red chilli, garlic, ginger and some water in a mixer.

Now boil all the mixed vegetables lightly. Keep in mind that it should remain half cooked.

Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds in it. Then add onion and fry until light golden.

Now add tomatoes and cook until soft. Then add turmeric and coriander powder and mix.

Now add prepared coconut paste and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Add boiled vegetables and mix well.

Add tamarind water and some water and cook for 5-7 minutes.

When the curry becomes slightly thick, turn off the gas. Serve hot.

Garnish with green coriander and eat it with steamed rice or cumin rice.
