How to renew passport
- For this, first of all go to the website of Passport Seva – https://passportindia.gov.in/
- Now here you will see the option of “New User”, click on this option and fill your details.
- After this create a password and click on the register option.
- Now log in here using the password.
- Here click on the option of Apply for Fresh Passport/Reissue of Passport.
- After this click on Alternative One. And submit after filling your passport number and date of birth.
- Fill the application form and upload all the required documents.
- Pay the visa fee at your passport office. And book an appointment for your passport online.
- After this, go to the passport office on your appointment, get your photo and signature done. After this process you will get the renewed passport.
Documents required to renew passport
- Photocopy of valid passport
- Photocopy of the back of the passport
- Current passport size photograph of the passport applicant.
- Photocopy of birth certificate
- Photocopy of identity proof (Aadhar Card, Driving License, Voter ID, etc.)

Passport validity and renewal process time
Passports have two validity periods, in which it may take 30 days to renew a passport with a validity of 10 years. If you want a validity of 5 years, it may take 15 days.
