Gangotri to Ganga Sagar, a journey of 2.5 thousand kilometers; These 20 women are trying rafting

A group of 20 women BSF soldiers, which started from Gangotri to spread the message of cleaning Ganga and make people aware, reached Bijnor on Wednesday. This group, traveling on three motor boats, will travel a distance of 2500 km in 53 days. During this period, this team will stop in 56 cities and towns and create awareness among the people. They will be made aware about cleaning of Ganga and women empowerment. Team’s operation leader BSF second in command Manoj Sundriyal said that this team had left from Gangotri on November 2.

This team was flagged off by Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil. Using oars, this group rafted in river Ganga and reached Ganga Ghat in Bijnor. He told that this team will reach Diamond Harbor Gangasagar on December 24 after rafting 2500 kilometers. He told that this operation has been started under the Save Ganga, Bring Happiness Campaign of BSF and Namami Ganga Project.
In this operation, the aim has been set to make people aware about the cleanliness of Ganga as well as to awaken the flame of women empowerment.

Dialogue held at four ghats of Bijnor

In this sequence, this group of women soldiers of BSF will stop at all the ghats on the banks of river Ganga and gather the people there and make them aware. During this, people will be communicated with and informed about the importance of river Ganga and the conservation and utility of aquatic life. In Bijnor, this team will meet people at four ghats Balawali, Bijnor Ganga Barrage, Vidur Kuti Ganga Ghat and Narnaur Makdoompur. He told that for the first time a team of women soldiers of BSF is participating in this very exciting and adventurous journey of river Ganga.

This group does rafting for 12 hours every day

This team does rafting by using oars from 6 am to 6 pm. Team leader Priya Meena had a special conversation with TV9 Bharatvarsh during this period. During this, he told that for this operation all the 20 members have taken rigorous training for 3 months. He told that in this journey of 53 days, about five lakh people will be interacted with. For this, seminars on women empowerment, education, culture and patriotism awareness will also be organized especially with villagers, school children and women. At the same time, special events will also be organized in cities like Haridwar, Garhmukteshwar, Kannauj, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Patna, Farakka and Kolkata between Gangotri and Gangasagar.
