Mango business of Amroha and Amla business of Pratapgarh
Amroha and Pratapgarh of Uttar Pradesh are famous throughout the country for their special fruits. The juicy mango of Amroha and the medicinal properties-rich Amla of Pratapgarh have their own identity. Now with the construction of Ganga Expressway, farmers and businessmen of these two districts are expected to get a new boost.
Amroha’s mango sweetness is famous across the country
Areas like Hasanpur, Gajraula, Naugaon Sadat and Mandi Dhanaura of Amroha are big centers of mango cultivation. Varieties like Dussehri, Chausa, Langra, Safeda and Fazli are grown on a large scale here. Every year thousands of tonnes of mangoes are sent from the markets of Gajraula and Hasanpur to Delhi-NCR, Meerut, Jaipur and Lucknow.
Local businessmen believe that with the construction of the expressway, transport time will be reduced and even perishable mangoes will be able to reach big markets in fresh condition. Due to this, farmers are likely to get better prices.
Amla of Pratapgarh: Full of medicinal properties
On the other hand, Amla of Pratapgarh is known for its quality and medicinal properties. Areas like Lalganj, Kunda, Babaganj and Sangipur are its major production centres. The Amla grown here has received the GI tag and is in demand across the country. Varieties like NA-7, NA-6, Banarasi and Chakia are grown here on a large scale, from which products like murabba, candy, juice, pickle and chyawanprash are prepared.
Small businessmen will get big benefits
After the construction of Ganga Expressway, it will become easy to transport goods from Pratapgarh to Lucknow, Prayagraj and Delhi. This will provide new markets to small and medium scale businessmen and strengthen the supply chain.
Cold storage and processing will get a boost
According to experts, better road network will also give a boost to cold storage, packaging and food processing industries. Amroha’s mangoes and Pratapgarh’s gooseberries will now be able to reach big retail stores and e-commerce platforms faster. Overall, the Ganga Expressway can open doors to new possibilities for the farmers of these two districts and play an important role in increasing their income.
