reason for price increase
The rise in crude oil prices (about $114 per barrel) due to the global energy crisis and conflict in West Asia (Iran) has been cited as the main reason for this increase. Supply in Delhi-NCR is controlled by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) and in Mumbai by Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL). Prices have seen an increase of ₹2/kg due to disruption in the international energy market and rising transport costs.
