Voting is being done today for Rajasthan Assembly elections. This time in Rajasthan there is a fight over changing ‘raj and customs’. On one side there is BJP which has hope from change of rule and on the other side there is Congress, which is adamant that this time the customs are going to change in the state. However, the final decision has to be taken by the public only.

There has been a trend in Rajasthan for the last several decades that power changes every five years. If BJP is there then Congress comes and if Congress is there then BJP comes. Voting is being held on 199 out of 200 assembly seats in the state. More than 5.25 crore voters will cast their votes in this election.

This time the elections have also become a close battle because BJP has fielded seven MPs to oust Gehlot from power. After all, let us know who these seven MPs are and from where they are contesting.

1- Rajyavardhan Rathore, MP from Jhotwara

In this election, BJP has fielded MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore from Jhotwara seat of Rajasthan. Rathore, who won a medal for India in the Olympics, became MP for the first time in 2014. At present he is an MP from Jaipur Rural Lok Sabha seat. To remove Gehlot from power in Rajasthan, BJP has given ticket to Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. Rathore is facing Congress’s Abhishek Chaudhary. Abhishek Chaudhary who has also been a student leader of Rajasthan University.

2- Vidyadhar Nagar gave Diya Kumari

BJP has also fielded MP Diya Kumari from Rajsamand Lok Sabha seat of Rajasthan. The party has given ticket to Diya Kumari from Vidyadhar Nagar assembly seat of Jaipur. There is a discussion in the politics of Rajasthan regarding Diya Kumari that if BJP wins, it can also make her the Chief Minister. Diya Kumar joined BJP in the year 2013. From 2013 to 2018, she was also MLA from Sawai Madhopur.

3- Balak Nath (Yogi) from Tijara

Balak Nath is also called ‘Yogi’ of Rajasthan. Balak Nath is also an MP from Alwar seat. Ever since BJP announced Balaknath’s name, many controversial statements have been made by him. BJP has fielded him from Tijara assembly seat. On the other hand, Congress has given ticket to Imran Khan to contest Balaknath. After fielding Imran Khan, Balaknath had said that this time the match is not an ordinary match but an India-Pakistan match.

4- Narendra Kumar from Mandawa

BJP has fielded its fourth MP Narendra Kumar from Mandawa Assembly seat. Mandawa seat comes in Jhunjhunu district. At present this seat is held by Congress and Rita Choudhary is the MLA. This time too Congress has fielded Rita Choudhary. One reason behind fielding Narendra Kumar in Mandawa is that this area is counted as a stronghold of Congress. In the 2013 assembly elections, Narendra Kumar, contesting as an independent, defeated Rita Choudhary.

5- Bhagirath Chaudhary from Kishangarh

This time BJP is also fielding MP Bhagirath Chaudhary from the assembly elections. BJP has fielded Bhagirat from Kishangarh. Bhagirath Chaudhary is currently an MP from Ajmer Lok Sabha seat. This time, as soon as BJP announced the name of Bhagirath Chaudhary, Vikas Chaudhary rebelled in the party and joined Congress. Vikas Chaudhary had contested elections on BJP ticket in 2018. Now Congress has given ticket to Vikas Choudhary against Bhagirath. In such a situation, their fate will also be decided today.

6- Devji M Patel from Sanchore

Rajasthan BJP has declared MP Devji M Patel as its candidate from Sanchore Assembly seat. BJP has fielded Devji M Patel on this seat because Congress has held the seat for the last three times. Devji M Patel is counted among the powerful leaders of BJP in Rajasthan. Devji Patel has contested the Lok Sabha elections in 2009, 2013 and 2019 and has won all three times.

7- Sawai Madhopur to Kirori Lal Meena

This time, BJP has also fielded Rajya Sabha MP Kirori Lal Meena from Sawai Madhopur assembly seat of Rajasthan. Sawai Madhopur seat is counted as a stronghold of Congress. Congress had won this seat in the 2018 assembly elections also. In such a situation, BJP has fielded Kirori Lal Meena to break into the Congress stronghold. On the other hand, Congress has given ticket to its sitting MLA Danish Abrar. Kirori Lal Meena, who has a good hold on the politics of Rajasthan, leads the Meena tribal group.
