Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Team India won the title of ICC T20 World Cup 2024. - In the final match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, the Indian team defeated South Africa by a huge margin and won the title.
- Both the teams faced each other at the Kensington Oval ground, in which Team India, batting first, set a target of 177 runs in 20 overs.
- Virat Kohli scored 76 runs in 59 balls. Akshar Patel contributed 47 runs and Shivam Dubey contributed 27 runs. No other batsman could touch the double digit mark.
Team India became T20 World Cup champion for the second time
- The South African team’s performance in the reply innings was excellent. But in the final overs, Jaspreet Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya changed the course of the match by bowling tightly.
- While Axar Patel gave away 24 runs in one over, Hardik Pandya’s superb bowling in the 20th over sealed the title win for India.
- Team India won the match by seven runs. The team has won the T20 World Cup after almost 17 years. In such a situation, all the Indian legends from MS Dhoni to Sachin Tendulkar congratulated Rohit Sharma and company on social media.
