From J&K LG to Kavinder Gupta expressed grief over the demise of BJP MLA Devendra Singh Rana.

Devendra Singh Rana, BJP MLA from Nagrota assembly constituency of Jammu and Kashmir, died late on Thursday night. Devendra Singh Rana (59) breathed his last in a hospital in Faridabad. Rana’s brother Union Minister Jitendra Singh reached his residence in this time of grief. BJP spokesperson Sajid Yusuf said, Rana was a prominent political figure of Jammu and Kashmir. His supporters including BJP are shocked by his death.

Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha expressed grief over the demise of Devendra Singh Rana. He posted on social media handle X and said, I am deeply saddened to know about the untimely demise of Devendra Singh Rana. With his demise, we have lost a patriot and a widely respected leader who was committed to working for the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He also said, I express my deep condolences to his family.

“Can’t believe it”

BJP leader Kavinder Gupta said on the demise of Devendra Rana, the news received is very sad, I cannot believe that he will leave us like this. Jammu has suffered a huge loss. He always used to talk about Jammu. It is natural for there to be mourning in the family.

Kavinder Gupta further said, he was our emerging leader and not only the Bharatiya Janata Party but the entire Jammu has suffered a loss. Many such plans were thought of which now remain incomplete due to his departure.

Mehbooba Mufti expressed grief

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti also expressed grief over the demise of Devendra Singh Rana. Devendra Singh Rana joined politics from business. Nagrota seat was considered his stronghold. He was elected MLA from there thrice. In the year 2021, Devendra Singh Rana left NC and joined BJP. After this, the party gave him a ticket in the assembly elections held in the year 2024 and he showed his magic once again and won with bumper votes.
