Friday Maa Durga Puja: In Hindu religious scriptures, Friday is considered very holy and special. On this day, there is a tradition of fasting and worshiping Goddess Lakshmi, but Goddess Durga is also worshiped on this day. There is a religious belief that Mother Durga, pleased with the worship, fulfills all the wishes of her devotees. It also protects from every crisis. According to Drik Panchang, Parigh Yoga has been formed early today at 04:36 am. This yoga will last till 30th May i.e. tomorrow.
Parigh Yoga is the 19th among the 27 yogas of astrology. Parigh means the main gate of the city or the iron rod that closes the gate. The lord of this yoga is Shani Dev. This yoga is considered a symbol of power and victory. This yoga is an antidote to enemies. In this yoga, whatever work is done against the enemies, one gets success. The enemies are defeated. Today in this yoga, you should do special worship of Maa Durga.
Worship method of Maa Durga
Wear red clothes after bathing in the morning on Friday. After this, place the idol or picture of Durga ji on a post. Then worship the mother properly. Light a ghee lamp in front of Maa Durga. Offer red flowers, vermilion, fruits and sweets to Maa Durga. Chant “Om Dun Durgaayi Namah”. Finally, complete the puja by performing aarti of Maa Durga.
Why is Maa Durga worshiped on Friday?
There is a mythological story behind why Maa Durga is worshiped on Friday. According to the story, during the war between gods and demons, Guru Shukracharya used to revive the dead demons with the help of Sanjivani Mantra. By doing this the demons got immortality in a way. Then the gods told Mahadev about this. He asked the gods to take shelter of Adishakti Maa Jagadamba. On the request of the Gods, Adishakti Maa Durga, with her spiritual power, ended the effect of Guru Shukracharya’s Dead Sanjeevani Mantra.
Shukracharya has dedicated the day
When this happened, the demons became weak and Shukracharya also became helpless. He admitted his mistake. Guru Shakracharya was a great devotee of Lord Shiva. He told Shiva that Sanjivani Mantra was ineffective. Then at the behest of Lord Shiva, Mother Durga returned his Sanjivani Mantra to Shukracharya. Shukracharya is considered very powerful because of his accomplishments and disciples like Rahu-Ketu, but he got scared of Maa Durga. Even in astrology, the deity of planet Venus is said to be Maa Durga. Due to fear of Maa Durga, Shukracharya dedicated Friday to the worship of Maa Durga.
