Former MLA Irfan Solanki and his brother Rizwan Solanki from Sisamau assembly seat of Kanpur have got a big relief from the Allahabad High Court. The High Court has granted bail to Irfan and Rizwan in the case of extortion. The single bench of Justice Rajbir Singh has ordered bail. However, Irfan and Rizwan will still have to stay in jail.
On 6 December 2022, Akil Ahmed Khan lodged an FIR against him for demanding extortion in Jajmau police station. Advocates Imran Ulla and Vineet Vikram presented the side in the High Court on behalf of Irfan Solanki. Additional Advocate General Manish Goyal was present on behalf of the state government. At the moment, even after bail, Irfan Solanki and Rizwan will remain in jail. Irfan’s gangster case while Rizwan’s two cases are still pending.
What was the woman alleged?
Please tell that 5 people including Irfan Solanki have also been convicted in the court arson case. In fact, a woman living in the Defense Colony of Jajmau accused Irfan Solanki, Rizwan Solanki and her associates of setting her home on fire. According to the woman, on 7 November 2022, when she went to the wedding with the family, Irfan, Rizwan and their comrades beat the son and tried to push the son by setting fire to the house.
Witness Vishnu Saini dies of heart attack
When a case was registered against Solanki in the case, he escaped. Vishnu Saini, the main witness of the case, died of a heart attack in January this year. Vishnu testified in Irfan’s case. Irfan was sentenced to seven years due to his testimony. Irfan has filed a petition in the High Court against the sentence.
Apart from the arson case, Vishnu Saini was a major witness in another case, alleging that Irfan, including Irfan, threatened and demanded extortion. The case may be affected after the death of Vishnu. Apart from this, Vishnu’s testimony was also to be held on charges of threatening and extortion, which will not happen now.
