In Bihar politics, the process of coming and going has started before the elections. Former state minister Vrishin Patel on Sunday revealed that he has joined the Jan Suraj Party, established by Prashant Kishore, who was an election strategist. Earlier, he stayed in many parties. He was a senior leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal before Prashant Kishore joined the party.
Vrishin Patel told in his native district Vaishali that he had met Prashant Kishore a day earlier and became a member of the newly formed party.
Second largest Kurmi leader after Nitish
At one time, Patel used to be a very close aide of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He has also represented Vaishali assembly constituency several times, besides he was also elected MP from Siwan parliamentary seat once.
Patel comes from the family of freedom fighters and at one time he was considered as the second most powerful Kurmi leader in the state after CM Nitish Kumar.
In 2020 joined RJD
When Nitish Kumar became the Chief Minister of the state in 2005, Vrishin Patel, who was then in the Janata Dal United (JDU), joined the state cabinet. However, his relationship with Nitish Kumar deteriorated in early 2015. He left JDU and supported former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and joined the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM).
When assembly elections were held in the state in the year 2020, there was an alliance between Jitan Ram Manjhi and Nitish Kumar, angry Vrishin Patel left NDA and joined Lalu Yadav’s party Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). After being in RJD for about 5 years, he was also fascinated by this party and now he has joined Prashant Kishore’s party.
