This app is directly operated by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. It has been specially designed for vehicle drivers and owners. In this app, you can generate a complete digital copy of your vehicle by entering your vehicle number or your license number. Apart from saving you from challan, this app also tells you when your vehicle’s insurance is about to expire or whether the pollution certificate (PUC) of your vehicle is valid or not. You can also check the status of your active challan on-the-spot through this app.

Why can’t policemen issue challans through these apps?

Many people have this fear in their mind that ‘What if the policeman refuses to see the papers in the mobile?’ Under the government’s IT Act and Motor Vehicle Rules, the documents displayed on DigiLocker and mParivahan are given the same status as genuine papers.
