This is a very secure and reliable app of the Central Government. In this you can save all your important government documents in digital form. For this you have to sign up on this app with your mobile number. After this you can download your Driving License (DL) and Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC) online.
How will DigiLocker app save from challan?
According to central law, the documents shown in this app are completely legally valid. If any traffic policeman asks you for papers, you can feel free to open this app and show your DL or RC. They will have to accept it.

mParivahan: Vehicle horoscope in your hands
This app is directly operated by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. It has been specially designed for vehicle drivers and owners. In this app, you can generate a complete digital copy of your vehicle by entering your vehicle number or your license number. Apart from saving you from challan, this app also tells you when your vehicle’s insurance is about to expire or whether the pollution certificate (PUC) of your vehicle is valid or not. You can also check the status of your active challan on-the-spot through this app.
Why can’t policemen issue challans through these apps?
Many people have this fear in their mind that ‘What if the policeman refuses to see the papers in the mobile?’ Under the government’s IT Act and Motor Vehicle Rules, the documents displayed on DigiLocker and mParivahan are given the same status as genuine papers. No officer can refuse to see them. But remember, taking a simple photo on mobile or sending it on WhatsApp is not valid, you will have to use these official apps only.
