For the first time in Delhi, which route will the metro with three coaches run? These will be stations

The Delhi Metro is going to start India’s first three coach corridor, which will have 8 km long and it will have 8 stations, which will be from Lajpat Nagar to Saket G block. This corridor is the second smallest metro line after the gray line (Dwarka-Dhansa bus stand) in the metro network. This corridor will prove to be a major achievement in the urban transport of the country.

Its 8 stations will be the first Lajpat Nagar, second- Andrews Ganj, Third- GK-1, Fourth- Chirag Delhi, Fifth- Pushpa Bhavan, Sixth- Saket Court, Seventh- Pushp Vihar and Eighth-Saket G Block Station. With this line, Lajpat Nagar will become a triple interchange station with pink and violet lines, while Chirag will interchange with Delhi Magenta Line. Saket G block will connect another interchange corridor to the airport.

A new corridor will be 3 coach

Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director of Corporate Communication at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), said that the metro has 4, 6 or 8 coaches usually, but on the contrary this new corridor will be with 3 coaches. This system has been developed especially to complete a short distance urban journey. This will make the journey cheaper and efficient.

60-80 thousand people can travel daily

Apart from this, as the number of passengers increases in these trains, the number of these trains will also be increased. This corridor will prove to be the most important for people traveling between South Delhi to Central Delhi. After this there will be less crowds on those metro line, which are now. Along with this, travel time will also be reduced. It is estimated that 60 to 80 thousand people will be able to travel daily on this line of Delhi Metro in 2025. At the same time, by 2041, the number of people traveling from this line is expected to be more than 1 lakh 20 thousand.

Due to the expansion of the fourth phase of DMRC, three new corridors are being built 65 km long, which will go from Janakpuri West to RK Ashram, Majlis Park to Maujpur and Aerocity to Tughlakabad. The 12.3 km long corridor from Majlis Park to Maujpur (expansion of pink line) is expected to be ready by 2025. Aerocity to Tughlakabad (Golden Line) and Janakpuri West to RK Ashram (expansion of Magenta Line) are to be prepared by 2026. However, three new corridors were approved for Phase IV last year.
