This not only helps in saving foreign currency but it is also a good practice to stay healthy. If you keep a few things in mind while cooking, you can cook delicious food with less oil.

Prefer roasted food
To reduce oil consumption, cook roasted food instead of frying. This will give a nice smoky flavor to your food. This is even easier in Indian homes. For example, you can make chokha by roasting potatoes. Apart from this, brinjal bharta also tastes amazing. At the same time, you can sometimes roast ridge gourd and prepare it. Just add 1 teaspoon oil to sprinkle it. Add basic spices and ridge gourd will taste amazing.
Change the way you add oil
In Indian homes, the simplest way to add oil to food is to pour oil from a can into the pan. There are very few people who use a spoon or rather a small spoon for oil. From now on, change the way you add oil to your food. For this, use a small spoon so that extra oil can be reduced. Apart from this, spread oil in the vessel with a brush for shallow frying. This will not compromise the taste of food and will also reduce oil consumption.

Add curd in gravy
You can make amazingly tasty vegetables with very little oil. Apart from tomatoes, curd can be used to make the gravy thick. Curd also contains fats which will compensate for the lack of oil. Apart from this, it also adds flavor to your vegetable. Just keep in mind that if you are using curd then do not add salt in the gravy but add salt at the end of cooking the vegetable. From the point of view of iodine, salt should be used only at the end of cooking.
Use non stick
There are many things in which oil needs to be added just to prevent them from sticking to the bottom of the vessel. Use non-stick utensils to cook things like cheela and omelette. Make stir-fried vegetables instead of frying. These will be tasty to eat and will also be healthy.
