Neetu Samara CEO Noida Airport
Flights may start soon from Noida International Airport. In fact, the airport management has taken a big step and appointed Indian citizen Neetu Samara as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This decision is expected to speed up the stuck processes at the airport. Let us tell you that according to the rules of Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, any airport in the country gets permission to fly only if the CEO of that airport is an Indian citizen. Till now, the CEO of Noida International Airport was Christoph Schnellmann, who was in this position since 2020, he will now join the board of directors of the airport as Executive Vice Chairman.
Decision taken after BCAS rule
This change has been made after objections from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). According to the rules, the CEO of any airport in India must be an Indian citizen. Earlier, security clearance was being hampered due to the CEO being a foreign national. Now after following this rule the path is almost clear.
Experienced leadership will provide strength
Neetu Samara was working as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at the airport since October 2021. He has played a vital role in financial management, administration and strategic planning during the critical phase of the project. In such a situation, it is expected that his experience will speed up the operation of the airport.
Security clearance may be available soon
After the biggest hurdle has been removed, the airport is now likely to get security clearance soon. According to officials, domestic and cargo flights will be started as soon as the clearance is received. It was already decided in the board meeting that a target has been set to start flights to 17 cities by the beginning or end of May.
Big potential and future plans
The first phase of Noida International Airport will start with a capacity to handle about 1.2 crore passengers annually. It will be expanded in future, so that it can be developed as the largest aviation hub of the country. This airport will also reduce the increasing air pressure on Delhi-NCR.
Regional development will get a big boost
This airport is not only a means of transportation but can prove to be an economic engine for the entire region. With its launch, employment, investment, logistics, hotel and industrial sectors are expected to get big benefits. According to Rakesh Kumar Singh, CEO of Noida Authority, after the operationalization of the airport, there will be rapid industrial development in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr and surrounding areas and lakhs of employment opportunities will be created.
