Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [भारत]July 11 (ANI): The first look of actor Dhanush’s upcoming film ‘Tamil Murugan’ with director Vetrimaaran has been released. In this poster released on Friday, the actor is riding on an elephant, standing in front of a big army with a spear (vel) in his hand. This spear is a sacred weapon associated with Lord Murugan.
The film is Dhanush’s fifth film with Vetrimaaran after ‘Polladhavan’, ‘Aadukalam’, ‘Vada Chennai’ and ‘Asuran’. The duo had earlier announced ‘Vada Chennai II: Ambuvin Ezhuchi’, but work on that project has not started yet. The first-look poster uses images associated with Lord Murugan, who is worshiped as the ‘Tamil Kadavul’ (god of the Tamil people) in Tamil Nadu. “Eternal protector, warrior, king and leader of the Tamil people and land. #sonofkottravai Tamil Murugan,” Dhanush tweeted.

The story of ‘Tamil Murugan’ has been written by Arivumathi, while Sai Abhyankar has been chosen to compose the music. The release date of the film has not been announced yet.
Dhanush’s upcoming projects
Dhanush has many projects. The actor will next be seen in a film tentatively titled ‘OM’. The film ‘OM’ stars Mammootty, Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela in the lead roles along with Dhanush. Written and directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, the film’s music is composed by Sai Abhyankar. ‘OM’ is scheduled to release in theaters worldwide on October 16, 2026.
