A major development came to light on Thursday in the alleged theft of offerings related to Ayodhya’s Ram temple. Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has formally lodged an FIR in the matter. In this case registered on the basis of preliminary investigation report of SIT, 8 people including the driver of Trust General Secretary Champat Rai have been made accused. After registering the FIR, the police have taken Tinnu, Lavkush and Anukalp into custody. With this action, the investigation of the case has reached a new stage. However, the initial FIR has not mentioned senior officials of the trust or big names associated with the construction committee.
Case registered after SIT report
The Ram temple offering issue first came into discussion on June 6. Considering the seriousness of the case, the Uttar Pradesh government had formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The SIT had submitted its preliminary report to the government after examining documents, bank records and questioning the concerned employees for several days. On the basis of the facts revealed in this report, Trust member Krishna Mohan lodged an FIR. Investigating agencies believe that the scope of investigation can increase further by including unknown persons in the case.
On whom is the focus of the investigation?
Most of the people named in the FIR were involved in work related to offering counting, cash management and maintenance of jewellery. Legal experts say that the process of arresting the accused can be expedited under the sections under which the case has been registered. According to Girish Chandra Tiwari, former minister of Faizabad Bar Association, after the registration of the FIR, the basis for immediate legal action has been prepared with the police.
Trust gave message of transparency
Experts believe that by filing the FIR, the Trust has tried to indicate that no obstruction will be allowed in the impartial investigation of the case. For the last several days, there was a demand for a transparent investigation from the opposition parties, Sant Samaj and local organizations. Now all eyes are on the final report of the SIT. It is believed that the final report may reveal a more clear picture regarding financial transactions, offering arrangements and the role of responsible persons.

After the FIR was registered, many saints and local citizens of Ayodhya have welcomed this step. He says that transparency and accountability should be the top priority in any matter related to Lord Ram’s temple.
