Shashank Singh rejected the allegations
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [भारत]June 30 (ANI): Punjab Kings cricketer Shashank Singh has denied allegations of assault. An FIR has been registered against him, his father and his driver in connection with the alleged incident with an employee. Shashank insisted that no physical altercation had taken place and claimed that the complainant was taking private pictures and videos inside his house.
Speaking to ANI, Shashank Singh said, “No, we did not hold him hostage… It is true that he came claiming to be a cook, but he was not a cook at all. He did not know how to cook; he was just here to have fun, take videos and pictures and even go to my room.”
suspected of coming with the intention of stealing
Claiming that the man was taking pictures and videos inside the house, Singh said, “Since he was doing such things, I suspect he came with the intention of stealing. We are very fortunate that the investigation we have done so far has revealed that nothing has been stolen.” He further alleged that home videos and photographs were found on the complainant’s phone and said that his mother asked him to delete them as they were personal.
Singh said, “The police have not yet contacted us. When we caught him taking pictures and videos, my sister suggested dialing 100. But she pleaded and I let her go.”
Rejecting the allegations of assault, the cricketer said, “It is possible that someone could make such allegations against me… I believe that anyone who knows me knows that physical altercation is completely out of the question for me. I am reluctant even to use abusive language, so I certainly couldn’t do something like that.”
