Balan: The Boy, jointly produced by KVN Productions and Thespian Films, is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on June 19.
Directed by Chidambaram, known for Manjummel Boys, the film is based on a script written by Aavesham director Jithu Madhavan. Venkat K Narayana and Shylaja Desai Fenn are producing the thriller.
The film will be released in Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Tamil.
Ahead of its release, Balan: The Boy received a major boost after veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan praised the film during an interaction with the team.
Expressing his admiration for the thriller, he described it as one of the finest films he had watched in recent years and predicted that it would leave a lasting legacy.
“I think this is the best film I have seen in the last two years,” Priyadarshan said.
The ‘Bhooth Bangla’ director added, “Balan will be remembered forever as one of the greatest Malayalam films. A great film comes together naturally. Though Chidambaram is the captain of the ship, every member of the crew has done a remarkable job. The screenplay is the backbone of any film, and Balan has an excellent one.”
The film recently completed its censor formalities, and members of the censor board reportedly appreciated its overall presentation.
‘Balan: The Boy’ has also attracted significant international attention.
Director Chidambaram has reportedly blended relatable human emotions, suspense and native cultural authenticity to create a story that can connect with audiences across regions.
Adding to the film’s reach, Annapurna Studios will distribute it across the Telugu-speaking states.
