Fight in Parliament on women’s reservation! 3 big bills introduced in Lok Sabha! Now women will get bigger rights? | Parliament debates women’s reservation a turning point

The stir regarding women’s reservation has intensified in Parliament, where the government has presented a roadmap to implement the Nari Shakti Vandan Act. Under this law passed in 2023, there is a provision to give 33% reservation to women, but there was a delay in its implementation, which now the government wants to complete soon. For this, delimitation has been said to be necessary and a proposal has also been made to increase the Lok Sabha seats from 543 to more than 800, due to which more than 270 seats can be reserved for women. There was a vigorous debate on this issue in Parliament, where Akhilesh Yadav raised the demand for separate reservation for Muslim women, while Amit Shah responded by saying that he should give them tickets in his own party. The opposition raised questions about the delimitation and some parties called it a political strategy, while the government says that this will give new strength to women empowerment and there are preparations to implement it before the 2029 elections.
