Who dominates in the group stage?
In this group stage, heavyweight France, world champion Argentina and host Mexico were the only teams who entered the knockouts with a perfect record by winning all their group matches. The biggest upset of the tournament was seen in Group-H, where the former world champion Uruguay team was eliminated from the group stage itself. Cape Verde, a small country that entered the World Cup for the first time along with Spain from this group, created history and qualified for the knockout round.
