New Delhi: By many measures, the Ferrari Purosangue is an amazing-performing SUV, even though it might not fit the usual definitions. Ferrari calls it ‘FUV’ for ‘Ferrari Utility Vehicle’. It might not be by which you toe hay, but something that always makes you feel special. In any definition, the Purosangue is quite good, and now the Italian brand has even improved the handling a bit more as well.
It is being called the Handling Speciale configuration, the Purosangue is sharper owing to the upgrades to its suspension and shifting. Ferrari says the new setup is made to further emphasise the Purosangue’s performance, without completely removing the grand touring abilities that the vehicle has always been famous for.
In terms of the technical aspect, Ferrari engineers have recalibrated the active suspension to reduce body movements by about 10 per cent. Shifting sharpens in upward curve with “Manettino,” “Race,” and “ESC Off” driving modes, as well as above five and a half rpm, while in manual mode. Ferrari even pumped up the interior sound.

There are a few cosmetic tweaks as well, which should give away the fact that the Purosangue has been updated. The Handling Package comes with dedicated wheels in a new diamond-cut finish, carbon fibre side shields, matte black exhaust tips, a black Prancing Horse emblem on the back, a satin-finished Ferrari script, and a special interior plaque denoting the specific setup.
In terms of powertrain, it is the same 6.5-litre V-12, making 715 horsepower and 716 Nm of torque. It is mated with a quick-shifting dual-clutch automatic that helps it go from 0-100 kph in 3.2 seconds. On its arrival, there were questions of how much of it was SUV and how much a hypercar on stilts. However, it really proved itself, and now, these upgrades should give it a stamp, and let’s face it, the Purosangue looks better as well.
