According to Priyanka’s mother, this was the time when her husband Ashok Chopra had to be taken to Boston, America for treatment. As soon as the news of Ashok Chopra’s cancer came to his family, his brother suggested him to go to Boston for treatment despite the slim chances of recovery. But, when he planned to go, he faced many challenges as airlines were hesitant to fly him even after providing the necessary medical information about his case.

Hrithik-Rakesh Roshan had helped

Amidst this turmoil, Priyanka was shooting for her film Krrish, which was directed by Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan was the lead actor of the film. Seeing Priyanka in trouble during the shooting of the film, Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan questioned her. Priyanka told him everything about how her father had to be taken out for treatment and what problems he was facing from the airline.

As soon as they heard about Priyanka’s problem, both of them came forward to help. Dr. Madhu Chopra said, “She shared her concerns with him. Hrithik asked her, ‘Why are you crying?’ Then, both father and son made it possible for the airlines to take us. They helped us, in a word – they knew people.”
