This incident is being reported from Nehru Chowk of Dhamdaha police station area. Abhilasha Kumari was married to Abhishek Kumar, son of Tuntun Mehta, resident of Dhamdaha, about eight months ago. The family members of the deceased allege that since some time after the marriage, father-in-law Tuntun Mehta had an evil eye on his daughter-in-law. Abhilasha used to complain about this to her parents many times, but her family members kept explaining to her and advising her to stay with her in-laws wisely. The family says that the father-in-law’s courage increased when the daughter-in-law did not protest much. According to family members, once the father-in-law took the opportunity and raped the daughter-in-law, when Abhilasha complained about this incident to her husband, he instead scolded her and silenced her.
Murder of daughter-in-law by strangulation
It is being told that on Sunday night, the father-in-law again tried to misbehave with the daughter-in-law, when the daughter-in-law protested, he got angry and strangulated her, due to which she died. After the incident, when husband Abhishek reached home, he came to know the whole story and instead of taking action against his father, he tried to save him. The husband loaded his wife’s dead body on a cart, covered it with a sack of chicken feed and took it to his poultry farm and hid it. When there was no contact with her daughter, her mother became suspicious and informed her family. When the police arrived, the husband kept changing his statement repeatedly during interrogation, but after being strictly interrogated he finally confessed the truth. Family members told that Abhilasha was four months pregnant.
