In Baberu area of Banda district of UP, an impostor Tantrik repeatedly raped a 14-year-old girl by luring her to take out the money buried in the field. Due to this she became four months pregnant.
Due to superstition, the father himself left his daughter in the Tantrik’s hut, where Baba made the innocent child a victim of his lust under the guise of Tantra-Mantra. If anyone protested, he would silence them by threatening destruction. According to Kotwali in-charge Rajendra Singh Rajawat, a case of rape and POCSO Act has been registered against the accused Niranjan Das alias Neeraj Maharaj and he has been sent to jail.
The victim’s father told that in February 2026, Niranjan Das Srivastava alias Neeraj Maharaj, resident of Parsauli came from Madhavpur and started living in the camp of Ganesh Pandit of the same village. Being misled, he went to meet Baba and he told him that he belonged to the village and had money buried in a field which he could extract. For this, there will be a need to apply Kajri. He took his 14-year-old daughter to the camp at night to perform Kajri. There Baba put Kajri in the daughter’s eyes and threw everyone out of the hut. Inside Baba did wrong things with the daughter.
Under Baba’s influence, I kept taking my daughter to the hut again and again and Baba kept making her a victim of his lust there. During this, Baba threatened the girl that if she told anyone, she would be destroyed. The girl did not tell anything to her family out of fear. When his stomach started growing, his family members asked him. Then the girl told the whole story. On June 12, the family came to know that the daughter was four months pregnant. Kotwali in-charge Rajendra Singh Rajawat said that on the complaint of the victim’s father, a case was registered against the accused Baba under POCSO Act including rape and he was sent to jail. Along with this, the police is investigating the matter.

Another incident has taken place in Girwan area of Banda in which four bullies wreaked havoc on a Dalit woman. It is alleged that angry with the testimony, the accused beat the woman, tore her clothes and tried to rape her. He threatened the woman that if she did not change her statement, he would leave her nowhere to be seen. The woman’s life and dignity could be saved by the arrival of a passerby at the last moment. Police have registered a case against all four accused. In the complaint given to the police, the woman said that she was returning from the fields at 6 pm on May 3. Then Keshav, Gaurav, Nikhil and Saurabh of the village abused us and said that she testifies against us a lot. If you don’t change your statement, you won’t be left anywhere to show your face. When he refused to give false testimony, Keshav, Gaurav, Nikhil and Saurabh started beating him. Tried to rape Gaurav by tearing his clothes. Then when noise was raised, Neelu alias Prakash Mishra heard the voice. Seeing him coming, all four threatened him and ran away. CO Praveen Kumar said that many cases were registered against the accused in the past. In which a woman had testified in one of the cases. Due to which the accused were angry, due to which the incident was carried out. The matter is being investigated after registering a report.
