Farmers can become rich by cultivating gram, scientists told the technique

The country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi keeps talking about producing more and more coarse grains. Gram cultivation is also included in these. If seen since some time, now farmers are paying more attention towards traditional farming. Farmers are being encouraged by the government for the cultivation of pulses and in this incentive, the District Agriculture Deputy Director in Hardoi is holding a meeting with the farmers and motivating them. He said that if gram is cultivated properly, it can prove to be a money-earning crop for the farmers with bumper production.

Nandkishore, District Agriculture Deputy Director of Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh, said that gram is cultivated till mid-December. Its seed is used at the rate of 35 to 40 kg per acre. Soaking the seeds in water for 12 hours before sowing increases the germination capacity of the seeds. Before sowing the seeds, the field is plowed properly. Gram grows well in granular loamy soil, it can also grow in sandy or clayey soil. The pH value of soil 7 is considered most suitable. After making gram ridges, the distance between the seeds should be 8 to 10 centimeters. At the same time, only a depth of 10 centimeters is considered suitable for seeds. In many states of India, it is also sown using Pora technique.

10 times profitable crop

The scientist of Krishi Prasar Bhawan said that to treat gram seeds, 2.5 kg Trichoderma per acre and cow dung manure is mixed in the soil. By doing this the farmer gets rid of fungus in the crop. He told that farming done by taking care of gram plant from time to time and taking advice from agricultural scientists gives good yield. There are different methods of watering the gram crop. One watering is given before sowing. This helps farmers a lot in germination of seeds. The second watering is given at the time of flowering of the gram tree and the third watering is given at the time of flowering of the pods and after that the farmer can give water as per requirement. At the time of harvesting, when the plant starts appearing brown in color, it is cut and left to dry and then the farmers can thresh the gram in their own way. Farmers get 10 times the profit in gram cultivation. By cultivating 1 acre of gram, a farmer saves at least one lakh rupees.

The crop is ready in just so many days

Agricultural scientist Suresh Kumar said that gram gives higher yield at lower cost. The yield of gram cultivation in one acre is more than 10 quintals. Some farmers can produce up to 15 quintals with good care. The gram crop is completely ready in 100 days. Farmers can earn profit by selling green gram in the market. Bumper production of gram makes the farmer rich. It is nutritious and rich in minerals and vitamins.

Protein and fiber are found in gram

Ayurvedic doctor Rekha Verma said that gram is a treasure of strength for the human body. 100 grams of gram contains 19 grams of protein. There is a lot of protein in its outer part.
