The clip was being shared with captions like ‘Korean man dressed as a pregnant woman harassed in India’. The video also showed people touching Sumin in an inappropriate way. Sumin has now stepped in to explain what really happened.

He clarified that the video of him dressed as a pregnant woman was actually shot in Bangladesh. The other part of the clip, which showed Holi celebrations, was from his trip to India last year. Sumin pointed out that someone had edited these two separate videos together to create a completely false and misleading story.

“Please do not spread false rumors against a country with my video,” Sumin said in a post on Threads, where he issued the clarification.

“The video where I’m dressed as a pregnant woman is from Bangladesh, and the Holi celebration video is from India last year. The person who edited the video did whatever they wanted to make it more controversial,” Sumin explained.

He also added that he was not wearing any disguise during the Holi celebrations in India. He suggested that people in the video might have mistaken him for a woman because of his long hair.

Sumin gave a strong warning against misusing his videos for hate campaigns against any country, referring to the fake news being spread about India. “I visit each country to learn about its culture, not to show any country, community, or culture in a bad light,” he clarified.
