Here a father-in-law got his widowed daughter-in-law married for the second time and also performed ‘Kanyadan’ for her. This step is being considered an example for the society. The wedding took place at a resort in Kulukhedi area of the city on Monday. The father-in-law himself came forward and performed all the rituals that are usually performed by the parents of a bride.
Son died of cancer
According to the family, the woman’s husband had died some time ago after a long battle with cancer. After the death of their son, father-in-law Dinesh Vairagi and his family decided that they would treat their daughter-in-law like a daughter and give her a new start in life.
Father-in-law said, we are fortunate to have a daughter as our daughter-in-law.
- The daughter-in-law’s father-in-law, Dinesh Vairagi, told ANI, “It is our good fortune that she came to be our daughter-in-law. She has always been a very good daughter-in-law, and our entire family together decided that she should get married again. Life is very long, so today we have got her married and performed Kanyadaan on our behalf.”
- He further said, “I also want to give a message to the society that if such a situation arises in any family, they should think about remarriage. We are very happy. We have accepted her as our daughter and are doing her Kanyadaan.”
When father-in-law performed Kanyadaan of daughter-in-law

- The woman’s father, Rambabu Vairagi, said, “My daughter is getting remarried. May God bless everyone with such in-laws. They left no stone unturned and did much more than our expectations. I could never have imagined that my in-laws would get my daughter remarried and perform her Kanyadaan.”
Daughter’s real father cried after seeing this scene
- Rambabu said, “Our son-in-law died of cancer. Just a year later, my daughter’s father-in-law told us not to worry, now she was his daughter and he would get her married. He kept every promise he made. He took my daughter home, let her choose the gifts of her choice and gave everything accordingly.
- Expressing her gratitude, she said that she wished every family had such kind-hearted people and thanked her in-laws for giving a new life to her daughter.
