Ex-CSK Star Under Fire Over Insensitive Remark On Krunal Pandya’s Injury

Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) cricket player Subramaniam Badrinath made an insensitive comment regarding Krunal Pandya’s battle with cramps during a match against the Mumbai Indians.

In a thrilling final-ball match, the  Bengaluru defeated the five-time champions by two wickets to take the lead in the scoring table and eliminate their rivals from the playoffs. To lead the team to a significant victory,  all-rounder Krunal Pandya scored a crucial 73 runs off 46 balls.

Despite having excruciating leg cramps during his bat, Pandya made sure to support the team when it mattered most. But it appeared that Raipur’s humidity overwhelmed him, necessitating medical attention. Ryan Rickelton, the MI wicketkeeper, moved forward to assist Pandya after he lay down on the crease in agony. The MI star demonstrated what true sportsmanship looks like by asking his opponent how he was doing.

But Subramaniam Badrinath, a former cricket player who is now a commentator, made a very hurtful remark. The former CSK player reportedly said that Rickelton should let Pandya perish there rather than assist him in order to cause the reigning champs to lose the match.

It goes without saying that the statement quickly gained popularity and sparked angry responses from fans on social media, who denounced Badrinath for going against the spirit of the game.

Although the broadcasting team has not responded to Badrinath’s remarks, it remains to be seen what steps they will take in response to the former batsman.

Strangely, the man at the centre of the controversial remark turned out to be the night’s hero. Royal Challengers Bengaluru pulled off a heist in a tremendously thrilling encounter, winning by two wickets on the last ball of the 20th over by chasing down MI’s score of 167.

Due to severe cramping, Krunal Pandya’s fight was overwhelming the scoreboard. He needed medical attention after becoming overwhelmed by Raipur’s humidity. Ryan Rickelton, the wicketkeeper for MI, moved forward to assist Krunal when he lay down on the crease in agony. In what appeared to be genuine sportsmanship, he aksed about Pandya’s issue and looked after him
