Good news for those changing jobs! EPFO has launched a new portal named ‘e-Prapti’. With this, you can trace your old, closed PF accounts and easily withdraw money through Aadhaar, even if you do not have a UAN.
New Delhi: Have you changed many jobs? If yes, then it is quite possible that the money is lying idle in your old Provident Fund (PF) account. Till now, it was very difficult to trace or withdraw money from such old or closed accounts. But now the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has made preparations to end this hassle. Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has announced a new portal named ‘E-PRAAPTI’. This portal will help employees to find their old or inactive PF accounts and activate them.
Why is this important to you?
PF is the biggest long-term saving for employed people in India. But as years pass and we change jobs, old accounts are lost. Some companies are closed, old PF ID is not remembered and old accounts are not even linked to UAN (Universal Account Number). The result is that thousands or lakhs of rupees of your hard-earned money remain stuck in the PF account. The purpose of this portal is to make this money reach you easily.
What is e-procurement? What will be the benefits of this?
E-PRAAPTI (Employee Provident Fund Aadhaar-Based Access Portal for Tracking Inoperative Accounts) is an Aadhaar-based digital system.
What can you do with this portal?
- Can locate old or closed PF accounts.
- You can access old accounts even without UAN number.
- Instead of wandering for papers, you can use Aadhaar-based verification.
- You can link and activate your UAN number with the old account.
- You can update your profile easily.
EPFO is changing rapidly
The process of settling PF money has now become faster than ever. According to the data:
- 8.31 crore claims were settled in the financial year 2025-26 (last year this figure was 6.01 crore).
- 71.11% applications for withdrawal of advance money were completed in just 3 days.
- 98.7% of the applications were settled within 20 days.
- In April 2026 alone, 61.03 lakh applications were processed, out of which 74% were processed automatically.
Less paperwork – more control in your hands
Now the dependence on company’s HR or paper documents for PF work is ending:
- 6.68 crore members withdrew money without uploading the check copy.
- 1.59 crore members linked their bank accounts without the company’s approval.
- 29.34 lakh users corrected their personal details themselves.
Make these preparations before launching the portal
- Check whether the details of all your old jobs are linked to the current UAN or not.
- Make sure that your Aadhaar and bank details are correctly updated.
- Keep the PF ID or other details of old companies safely.
