In the statement issued by the police, it has been said that the encounter took place in North Abujhmad, District Narayanpur or Kanker.So far, bodies of 5 uniformed Naxalites including two female Maoists have been recovered in the searching.

According to the information, the whole matter is of Pundag adjacent to Samri Path police station area of the district, where a CRPF camp has been established at some distance for the last two years and various types of campaigns are being conducted by the police against the Naxalites continuously to eliminate them. However, attempts by Naxalites to target security forces and cause harm have been coming to light from time to time. Similarly, this time also the Naxalites had planted an Eid tiffin bomb weighing about 4 kg and their aim was to harm the security forces, but they did not succeed in their plans. Naxalites’ intention to harm security forces failed
