The news of the death of an 8-year-old girl student has come to light from a school in Uttara Kannada, Karnataka, where a student was going to the washroom in a government school in Mundawada village of Haliya taluk. Then she got electrocuted and died on the spot. The deceased student was studying in second class and her name is Sanvi Basavaraj Gawli.
Actually, unauthorized electricity connection was taken to install the borewell, the wire of which got cut and fell into the school toilet and Saanvi came in contact with the same wire. It is being said that in this case, negligence of Hescom (Hubli Electricity Supply Company Limited) and the principal has come to light, due to which the girl died. Since the death of the girl, the villagers and the family members of the deceased girl are very angry.

As soon as the matter came to light, Tehsildar Praveen Huchannavar went to the spot and took stock. At present, the body of student Saanvi has been sent to Haliya Government Hospital. Congress MLA RV Deshpande visited the hospital and expressed condolences to the family of the deceased student. He also directed to take action against the culprits. A lot of care has to be taken while connecting the borewell, but the service line is connected to the borewell in an informal manner.
