After petrol and diesel, will everything become expensive now?
In the national capital Delhi, petrol has reached ₹ 97.77 and diesel ₹ 90.67 per liter. Prices are also at record levels in Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. The effect of continuously increasing fuel cost is now visible on food items, milk, vegetables and everyday items also. Economists say that when transportation and logistics are expensive, the final price of every product increases. This reduces people’s savings, reduces consumption and ultimately increases pressure on economic growth.
