East Bengal face Bashundhara Kings of Bangladesh in the second Group A match of the AFC Challenge League in Thimpu on Tuesday.
East Bengal rallied to hold hosts Paro FC 2-2 in the opening match on Saturday, while Bashundhara Kings lost 1-0 to Lebanon’s Nejmeh SC.
The talking point of Tuesday’s clash will be Oscar Bruzon, the present East Bengal coach, facing his former club Bashundhara. The Spaniard was the Bashundhara coach for six years before he switched sides.
Nejmeh SC face Paro on Tuesday in an early kick-off and the result of that match will give both East Bengal and the Bangladesh club an idea about what they have to do in order to advance.
“We have to win at any cost. The players know that. Yes, the early match will give an idea to both teams,” Bruzon said at the pre-match news conference on Monday.
“It will be a difficult match,” said Spanish central defender Hector Yuste.
