A high level meeting was held in Chhattisgarh on Ease of Doing Business Bill 2026. Simplification of 180 government services, expansion of digital services and increasing investment were discussed.

Raipur. A high level meeting of senior secretaries was organized today at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shri Vikassheel. The draft of ‘Ease of Doing Business (Deregulation and Facilitation) Bill, 2026’ was discussed in detail in the meeting. Besides, a detailed review of the operational framework prepared for investment promotion, expansion of digital services and regulatory reforms was also done. The objective of the meeting was to make the processes more simple, transparent and time bound for the industries in the state and to provide better and faster government services to the citizens.

Chhattisgarh Investment: Emphasis on increasing investment and providing easy environment to industries

In the meeting, measures to simplify the processes related to starting and operating a business for industries were discussed in detail. Also, various proposals were reviewed to provide better facilities to investors and promote investment in the state. Officials also discussed that simplification of procedures will lead to faster approvals for industries and strengthen investor confidence.

Invest Chhattisgarh: Preparation for simplification of 180 government services

Under the operational framework, a plan was presented to make the administrative system more effective through the ‘Invest Chhattisgarh’ platform. In this, the proposal of preparing a methodology based on five main principles, simplifying 180 government services and linking nine departments with this new system was discussed in detail. It aims to provide fast and transparent services to both investors and common citizens through digital medium.

Digital Governance: Special focus on digital services and regulatory reforms

Chief Secretary Vikassheel directed the concerned departments to simplify all the processes with mutual coordination, expand digital services and create a transparent and investment-friendly environment for investors. He said that after the implementation of the proposed system, investment in the state will get a new impetus, it will be easier for industries to do business and government services will be provided to the citizens in a simpler, quicker and more effective manner than before.

In the meeting, Principal Secretary of Home and Jail Department, Mrs. Niharika Barik, Principal Secretary of Law and Legislative Department, Mrs. Sushma Sawant, Secretary of General Administration Department, Mr. Avinash Champawat, Secretary of Commerce and Industry Department, Mr. Rajat Kumar, Secretary of Urban Administration Department, Ms. R. Shangita, Secretary of Housing and Environment Department Mr. Ankit Anand, Chief Minister and Secretary of Commercial Tax Department Mr. Mukesh Kumar Bansal and Secretary of Tourism and Culture Department Dr. S. Senior officials of various departments including Bharathidasan were present.
